Kindling

Mission

Kindling provides management consulting services to technology companies, both public and private, in the areas of intellectual property program development and management of legal services.

Kindling was founded in 1997 by Tom Maliska, a Stanford technologist and intellectual property attorney, to deliver world-class operations in the identification, development and related commercialization of intellectual properties, and to address the complex legal issues facing emerging technology companies. Tom is a leader in the technology and intellectual property bar, and an expert at business issues relating to intellectual properties and related business transactions. Advisory Board members and affiliated industry professionals also provide leadership and management skills for high technology companies.

The Kindling team has broad legal and technology company experience: more than 30 years with major Silicon Valley and international law firms, leadership positions with key industry and legal associations, and hands-on management experience with both publicly traded and privately held technology companies.

Kindling engagements range from management consulting roles with public or VC-funded technology companies to founder, Director and management roles with technology startups. Kindling can define engagements to match a particular stage of growth. Kindling can also structure consulting compensation flexibly, using both cash and equity components.
